‏The posters of the series "Souq Alcanto" starring Prince Karara, May Ezzedine and Fathi Abdel Wahab sparked widespread controversy on social media, where pioneers and users of social media likened the fashion and the historical character of the series to the famous British series "Biki Blinders".

The series "The Kanto Market" is scheduled to be shown in the drama of Ramadan 2023, and the star Amir Karara presented on his official page on Instagram pictures of the workposters, and the star Mai Ezzedine also published her character posters in this series on her Instagram page.

After these accusations and widespread ridicule directed at the makers of the work, photographer Sherif Mukhtar, photographer and poster of the series "Market Canto", said in press statements that the series takes place in a certain era, which is the era of the 1920s and thirties in Egypt, which imposed these costumes on her.

‏He added that fashion is not exclusive to anyone as long as it is within the time period in the series, and that the similarity in fashion between the two works is due to the fact that they are in the same time period.

Mukhtar stressed that the posters that were put forward have no foreign reference, and he has honesty that he says he inspired the idea from a series or movie, but in fact he did not get inspired the idea from anyone.

Sherif Mukhtar pointed out that the workmakers should have adhered to the clothes of the characters that suit this era, otherwise the work will be heavily criticized, especially from fashion experts, it is not correct to choose clothes that do not belong to the period of time in which the work is depicted.

Mukhtar explained that Egypt at this time was wearing these clothes, in addition to oriental clothes and Tarboush, which was achieved in the clothes of the artist Mahmoud Al-Bazawi.

He concluded by saying that Egypt was the capital of fashion in this period, and international fashion was not far from it, so the makers of the work did not imitate any other foreign series.
